Our Specialism – Dampness in Buildings
Dampness is one of the most damaging decay mechanisms in our built environment in Ireland. Dampness can occur in all building types, from modern construction to historic buildings. Our approach to confronting dampness and decay in buildings is to diagnose the root cause and then tailor the remedial approach accordingly.
We use a holistic methodology to studying and understanding how buildings fail, recognised as building pathology. We understand how buildings are put together, how they change and how they fail. This often includes the study of particular building defects and their associated remedial repairs. Defects will typically occur due to a change to the structure of the fabric of a building, design deficiencies, quality issues, environmental changes and poor building maintenance.
